Policy & Procedure Development
Getting your policies and procedure right is important to the success of any organization. We try to help organizations strike the balance between requirements and flexibility in creating policy. We know that successful procedures depend on a well-defined and well-articulated process. We bring our evidence-based knowledge and our depth of experience to both. Our systems approach and attention to detail will enhance the overall quality of your policy and procedure development. Some examples of policies and procedures we have helped others develop are: RtI policy and procedures, protocols for interventions, protocols for implementation integrity, assessment and accountability systems, and alternative school procedures . Many schools also face the challenge of how to provide Tier 2 and 3 services within a school schedule. We have aided schools in revamping their schedules to meet the needs of all students while enhancing the learning environment for everyone in involved.
We know how hard it is to deal with the daily issues that pull you away from the time intensive development of policies and procedures. Contact us today and let us use our expertise to help you develop policies and procedures that will effectively help you accomplish your goals.
Professional Development
Our primary professional development is our institutes. These multi-day events provide instruction along with interactive and dynamic small group activities. These events provide participants with the extended time needed to engage with the instruction and develop deeper understanding. We also provide professional development on request for a variety of RtI-related topics such as functional behavior assessment, behavior intervention plans, differentiated instruction, academic interventions, and data analysis. If you have an RtI-related professional development need, we have probably provided professional development on it.
Dr. Johnson and Dr. Kaase both regularly provide keynote speeches for many state, regional, and national meetings and numerous school districts. In our keynote addresses we bring together the research-based evidence and our practical experience of implementing those research-based practices in schools and other settings. We are very passionate about the difference evidence-based approaches to education can make for students and effectively motivate others to embrace those approaches.
If you are in need of RtI or RtI-related professional development or a keynote presentation, please contact us.
Coaching & Technical Assistance
Our desire is to assist individuals at every level to build their capacity to meet the needs of all the people they serve. We believe building capacity requires a sustained effort and cannot be achieved through professional development alone. We work side-by-side with teachers, principals, and others to help them develop their capacity to implement best practices consistently. We believe this approach is the only way to effect real change and build sustainability. If you are looking for someone who is going to be with you and assist you in implementing RtI or other evidence-based practices, then we are the people for whom you are looking.
We can provide coaching and technical assistance in a variety of forms. Many of our clients prefer on-site coaching and technical assistance. Providing coaching and assistance on-site allows us to better understand the context of organization and allows us the opportunity to model practices with students, teachers, and others. We also provide coaching and technical assistance via conference calls or video conferencing for organizations that want more accessibility or who want an alternative to on-site assistance.
We generally recommend one day of on-site assistance per month per site. We would be pleased to discuss your particular situation and need to find the option that works best for you. Contact us to let us know your need or give us a call at 217.417.8420.
Data Analysis & Research
Our training and experience is with data analysis and research. It is one of the things we love to do! We are engaged in data analysis and research activities with our clients and in our own work because see it as an integral part of our everyday work. In fact, we collect data on our practices and analyze it, so we can continually improve our service to our clients. For example, we have developed interventions based on students needs at Tier 2 and 3 at all grade levels and collected data to verify if our interventions were effective. Whether you need assistance in understanding data, analyzing your mountain of data, determining the cost effectiveness of your investment in programs or services, or determining if a program or intervention is effective, we can help you. We can assist you with developing valid, reliable, and defensible measures, designing a research or evaluation study, or conduct a study for you.
